Let me start by saying, we are in a race against time.
The time left is very short. We have a strong ongoing phrase in the ministry of Victory Outreach International. "The Time is Now"
For the month of August, we want to step up the intensity of corporate evangelism. Hitting the city centre of Birmingham together as a church, and thus partnering with other churches and organisations of like minds.
Take a look around. Look at everything that has taken place - seen and unseen. The world has changed, almost over night. There has been a radical shift in how we do things. And the amazing, almost hard to believe thing is, we are not going back to how things were. The danger is that there are people that haven't pressed reset in this period of time, and will get caught out, and worse case scenario, left behind.
Matthew 28:18-20 MSG
Jesus, undeterred, went right ahead and gave his charge: “God authorized and commanded me to commission you: GO out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.
There has never been a clearer, better, most opportune time for the people of God to make a difference in the world and see people come to Jesus.
The world we live in now, as afforded immense opportunity to be the leaders, the innovators, the creatives, with the best most rewarding news ever known to mankind. WOW...
Its time now more than ever to GO.
Jesus said, I am CO-MISSIONING, and I am with you in the mission of reaching lost people.
You can't sit at the traffic lights when the light shows green. You know when it's green and your day dreaming, or looking at your phone, you will very quickly get a few people letting you know about it.
Its not a time or the time to allow apathy, slumber, laziness to set in, and keep you from being effective for Jesus.
When we see the word GO, it is a clear command to respond. Green means go. I think we need a big green light in the front of some of our church buildings flashing on the hour. 😳
In Christianity, and as a leader, we have to be people that exercise the word GO. We also have to be the leaders, that have been, where we are sending people to go. We need to be the examples.
When the leader tells you to go, respond positively. Don't complain, don't hate, don't get vexed and prideful.
Jesus was the most effective and well known leader in history. There were many times He told the disciples to go. But He always showed them, and led the way. They saw what He did, then He sent them to go do it. . Did they get it right all the time? No, but He persevered with them.
The times we are in now calls for the GOERS. Those that are burdened, always looking for opportunities, always praying for souls. Give me souls, Lest I die.
Because Jesus has been given all authority we also have the same authority, so we can GO and make disciples, this is powerful. Nothing can hinder us from believing for our families, our neighbours and communities to be reached and saved.
Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
BE A GOER TODAY IN JESUS NAME.
