Every single person has to have faith in something or someone. Every single person has to believe in something or someone. Many times, we encounter people that simply do not believe there is a higher power or being called God and actually don't believe in a god of any description. They don't believe that He could have created the earth or even mankind. These people that all this was created from nothing. • Talk unbelief, and you will have unbelief; Talk faith, and you will have faith. • Obedience is an act of faith; disobedience is the result of unbelief. For those that believe the creator God, we have been commissioned to tell all people everywhere that God is who He says He is, that He blew breath into mankind, and He became a living soul. And that He sent his son Jesus Christ to redeem us back to the father. Unbelief is a terrible thing, and a very heavy price to pay, when you don't believe what you have just read. To put it another way, the only sin God can't forgive is the sin of unbelief. That's why God has done everything possible to bring us forgiveness and salvation. There is a vast difference between a struggling faith and stubborn unbelief. Brothers and sisters, coming from the pastor, its ok to struggle in your faith from time to time, as long as you believe that Jesus has saved you. Its ok to ask questions, and ponder, and doubt. Thomas doubted and needed Jesus to show him the nail prints in his hand. Jesus will reveal himself to you and take away that doubt. Matthew 13:53-58 NLT When Jesus had finished telling these stories and illustrations, he left that part of the country. He returned to Nazareth, his hometown. When he taught there in the synagogue, everyone was amazed and said, “Where does he get this wisdom and the power to do miracles?” Then they scoffed, “He’s just the carpenter’s son, and we know Mary, his mother, and his brothers—James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas. All his sisters live right here among us. Where did he learn all these things?” And they were deeply offended and refused to believe in him. Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his own family.” And so he did only a few miracles there because of their unbelief. Many Christians lose sight of who God is and what His son Jesus came to do, then turn away, because they don't petition God. They don't surround themselves with other believers, they think they can walk this journey alone, then they fall away. There doubt supersedes their faith, so they lose hope. Many are falling away, and the bible says this would happen in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 4 keys quick keys to overcoming doubt and unbelief. 1: Stop overthinking. 2: Recall what He's done before. 3: Block the negativity. 4: Only believe. The times we are in right now are producing more distractions, more than we have ever seen. Everybody has an opinion. Everyone is looking for a platform. Believers, the enemy is trying to bring division into the church. He is making every effort to make the people of God feel worthless and inadequate, by trying to line us up with the world’s standard. As if by not having a 40k a year job or live in a house with 4 bedrooms inhibits what God is going to do through your life. We take the church to the streets every Sunday. The hardest to accept Jesus are those who think they have everything. So, they decide not to believe or to been listening or asking questions. The world is already deeming us the church as non-essential. We have the most important message the world will ever know. I want to encourage someone reading this. You don't need to be respected or honoured to be useful to God. Friends, family, the same people you hope would support you, don't let their rejection keep you from serving God with all your heart. JESUS gave "sufficient" proof of his mission and left them in their chosen unbelief without excuse. It is also true, in spiritual things, that the unbelief of a people prevents the influences of the Holy Spirit from being sent down to bless them. God requires faith. He hears only the prayers of faith. And when there is little true belief, and prayer is cold and formal, there the people sleep in spiritual death and are unblessed. To put it another way, the only sin God can't forgive is the sin of unbelief. That's why God has done everything possible to bring us forgiveness and Salvation... CHOOSE TO BELIEVE AND LOVE GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND YOU SHALL BE SAVED.
I loved reading this and although I have left the main body of the church in Manchester I always have Pastor Colin and Sister Natasha to call in my times of need. Thank you and God bless this church on the streets in Birmingham.
